The owners of this home on Seattle’s Queen Anne Hill requested an interior with warmth and ample room for entertaining. Balancing both traditional and contemporary elements, Ore Studios designed a space with these key factors in mind. Wood floors and custom cherry cabinets provide a rich backdrop for the open plan first floor, while the wall color fades from khaki to cream depending on the time of day. Metallic tiles and stone counters lend subtle glamour to a compact, fully-equiped kitchen. Furnishings include modern classics mixed with simple casegoods and custom upholstery. These items are enhanced by vintage carpets and occasional pieces, and a collection of beautiful Northwest Coast Native artwork.
We have been asked back by the owners of this home to re-imagine their top-floor, open plan office/guest/entertaining space. We are currently installing a custom wall of built-in cabinetry to house a home office, new furnishings for the room and its adjoining roof deck, a limestone-topped bar, and new curtains and floor coverings.
